New Swansea City head coach Carlos Carvalhal said his preference was to live at the training ground as the Portuguese continues to show his eagerness to get to work in South Wales.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager explained to the press how he started out living at training grounds at Besiktas and Sporting Lisbon.

He explained his reasons for wanting to live at the training ground, saying that you ‘lose a lot of time’ travelling back and for, when he wants to spend as much time as possible to learn about his new players.

“I will probably stay in a hotel,”

“One of the first questions I asked was if there was accommodation here.

“When I started at Sporting Lisbon I spent one month in the Academy building, I never go outside other than to train.

“In Besiktas it was the same, three weeks I spent sleeping in the Academy building.

“I didn`t want an apartment because it was a different country and different football and you must learn everything about the players.

“When you travel back to another place you lose a lot of time, so I prefer staying in the Academy building in my room.

“So I can collect maximum information and be ready for the challenge. But to stay here is impossible because they don`t have rooms.”

I’m sure Carlos has asked to live in the nearest hotel to the training ground in Fairwood!
