Despite St Johnstone expressing that Swansea City have contacted them about expressing an interest in Jason Scotland, Martinez has quickly denied these claims.

Like Duffy, Swansea face competition for Scotland as Birmingham, Hearts and Dundee Utd have also shown an interest in the striker.

St Johnstone manager, Owen Coyle said:

‘Swansea have contacted us officially to express an interest in taking Jason,’

‘We have not come up with a figure, but if any club wants Jason now, they have to be reasonable and then sort out a work permit.’

‘Jason is under contract until the end of August.

‘We won’t be greedy, but clubs should not be disrespectful with compensation offers.

‘I will have no qualms in playing Jason for the first month of next season if he is still with us.’

Martinez denied these claims and said:

‘All we have done is get information about the player.’

‘He is a player that we have been watching for quite a while and I’m still to make my mind up as to whether he would be a good Swansea City player.’
