Swansea City midfielder Shaun MacDonald will join the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Wayne Hennessey and Joe Ledley after being called up to the Wales under-21 squad.
Brian Flynn’s young side take on Romania on August 20th as they set their sights on qualification to the Euro 2009 under-21 finals.
MacDonald’s Swansea team-mate Joe Allen unfortunately misses out however because of suspension.
John Toshack has also boosted our chances of qualification by loaning out some of his senior players to the under-21s squad.
MacDonald had a quiet season last year with regards to club football but an impressive pre-season in Spain could see him more involved this year perhaps.
