Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup says he cannot guarantee how long he will be at the club.

Even before guiding his team to winning the Capital One Cup Final, the media have been linking the Swansea boss with moves away, with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and even Real Madrid being linked with the Dane.

Unlike some of his predecessors, Laudrup hasn’t given the fans or the club false promises that he’ll stay for many years to come, and the fans will surely appreciate the honesty he has shown ever since he took over at the Liberty Stadium in June 2012.

Laudrup has told the Evening Post that he can’t guarantee how long he’ll be managing Swansea City:

‘I’ve said it already a couple of times – my intention is to stay here next year but, again, who knows about the future?

‘One thing is our intention and my intention is that. Do you know your future next year? You are 100 per cent what you will do next year?

‘You can have an intention and think ‘this is my plans’ but none of us knows it, because … maybe it’s a good thing that we don’t know what’s going on in the crystal ball there because it could be positive or negative, you never know if you talk about life.

Laudrup is clearly not enjoying answering the same questions each week about his future, and was obviously keen to change the subject to more important matters of their next match – at home to Newcastle United on Saturday.

‘I really cannot answer that question differently and I think it will be the same next week and next week and next week and next month.

‘I think we just have to leave it there and go back to what is important and that’s the games on Saturdays.’
