17 year old striker Chris Jones has joined Scottish Division One side Hamilton Academicals on a one year loan. Jones has found breaking into the Swansea Side very tough indeed and this move signals an intent by Martinez to retain talent.

There seems to be a new policy at the club regarding transfers of which Jones and fringe players will be give opportunities to gain match experience instead of being on the bench or playing in the reserves.

The club have stated in the Official statement regarding the loan that they have the option to recall him.

Jones has impressed at the club with his pace and movement have been earmarked as his greatest assets. This move will make him a better player which will have long term benefits for the club.

The South Wales Evening Post have also reported that Steven Watt is also set to follow Jones out on Loan.
