Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is still upbeat despite the team not scoring in their opening four Premier League games.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have shown encouraging signs in their performances so far. They’ve kept 2 clean sheets where they were able to get two points from, but there’s still a lack of cutting edge and firepower up front.

Everyone at the club is remaining positive that the goals and wins will soon come, and Jenkins is no different:

“I always felt it would take us a few games to settle down in the Premier League,”

“I think that has been the case, and yet we have got a couple of results already and we could easily have got a couple of wins.

“The two draws at home could have been wins for us, and I also felt we deserved something at Arsenal. Our second-half performance last Saturday should give the players a lot of encouragement and confidence.

“It showed that if we stick to our task and believe in what we are trying to do, we will be okay.

“Gradually we will build ourselves a platform in this division and then the results will come. Our performance at Arsenal proved that is realistic.”

Jenkins also says ‘we’ve got to be upbeat’:

“We have got to be upbeat, particularly after the way we played at Arsenal,”

“The comments in the media and from Arsene Wenger were only focused on the fact that Arsenal didn`t play well, but that is not fair on us.

“I thought we outfought them and outplayed them in the second half.

“Arsenal are not going to admit that because of their confidence, but the game was there for us to win.

“With a bit more confidence ourselves, we would have won the game, and that`s something that will come given time in this division.”
