Kenny Jackett says Lee Trundle can get even better after he scored a hatrick in the 5-1 thrashing of Chesterfield on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.

‘Magic Daps’ is the top scorer in the whole of the UK with 14 goals in as many games and the manager thinks he will keep improving: ‘He’s taken on board some of things we’ve told him about looking after himself and it’s starting to show.

‘His fitness is starting to promote his ability now.’

After performances like that, Jackett is expecting more bids for the scouser: ‘After performances like that, it does cross my mind that a higher division club might come in for an improved bid for Lee.’If there’s transfer speculation about one of our players, we’re doing something right. But we’re definitely not letting Lee go. We’re in a sound position financially, so we’re able to make football decisions and that is pleasing.

‘If we get bids in for Lee, we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it – but as long as my mobile phone is off they can’t get hold of me!’

‘Lee is idolised by the fans here,’ he said.

‘But the big thing Lee has mentioned to me is that he’s in a side that creates chances, which is important because goalscorers thrive on chances and thrive on confidence.

After the Swans rejected Sheffield Wednesday’s £700,000 bid, Trundle said the move didn’t interest him and is confident he can play in the Championship with Swans. If he carries on scoring at the rate he is at present, he will guide us to back to back promotions!

Lee himself has won us 8 points and some people claim we are a one man team but they forget the fact that its players like McLeod, Martinez and Britton who are creating these chances for our strikers.
