Swansea City striker Danny Graham sounds in confident mood ahead of the new 2012/13 Premier League campaign.

The frontman scored a hatrick in Tuesday night’s 4-2 friendly win at home against Blackpool and he can’t wait for the first game of the season to kick off – at QPR on Saturday 18th August at 3pm.

The former Watford man is pretty much guaranteed a starting place from the opening game, as he’s been the main choice striker through the pre-season games – including the three during the USA Tour – in which he scored one in the 2-2 draw against San Jose Earthquakes.

Graham revealed to the Official Site that the squad has been doing more work on attacking teams compared to last season under Brendan Rodgers.

“We`ve been working hard in training on attacking teams more than we did last season,“

“It seemed to work today.

“Over the course of the pre-season we`ve got better with each game. Today was better than our last one in America, which is a good sign.

Graham also said that he was glad to get back to Wales and play in front of the home crowd, as over 8,600 turned up to watch him score a hatrick against Blackpool.

“After America, it was nice to be back at home and playing in-front of our own fans again. There were over 8,000 here for a pre-season friendly and to win 4-2 is great.

It was good to put on a show for them and now we need to push on with another good performance against Stuttgart on Saturday.“

“It was nice to get the hat-trick; nice to score goals 10 days from the start of the season,“

“I`ve also got another 70 minutes under my belt which is important for that match sharpness. I`ve felt better with every game and every training session.

Graham can’t wait now to start playing Premier League football again when they travel to QPR on August 18th. He added:

“QPR can`t come quick enough. Nothing beats the start of the new campaign because that`s what we work hard for over the pre-season – that 3pm kick-off on the first Saturday of the season.

“We want to build on what we achieved last season. We know it`s going to be tough, but I`m sure if we play like we did against Blackpool then we will win more than we lose.“

Can Graham beat last season’s goalscoring tally of 14 this year?
