FIRST HALF REPORT:
Swansea City made the best possible start to the game as John Terry put the ball into his own net thanks to an excellent low cross into the box from Neil Taylor.
Good work from Routledge allowed Swansea to break, and Terry could do nothing but slide the ball into his own net as Gomis was waiting to tap home at the far post.
Monk’s side showed great balance to their play, committing numbers forward to try and win possession in Chelsea’s half but also having numbers back to cope if they didn’t.
As the first half went on, Chelsea got closer and closer to netting an equaliser as Swansea City desperately needed to hear the half time whistle.
Costa eventually scored a minute before the break, heading home from a corner.
