Vital Swansea were the first to report that Swansea were in talks with Fulham’s Darren Pratley.

Thanks to member couchpotatoe plus 2 other sources, we reported on Tuesday that Prately was set to sign subject to a medical and the news is now official.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said:

“We are obviously pleased to make our first signing for the new campaign,”

“It’s been no secret that we tried to get him last season because he’s highly rated.

One year on and we are absolutely delighted to finally get our man.”

Kenny Jackett said:

”I have followed him for a while and he is the right type of signing for us,”

”He is 21 years old but he has experience having played at this level through last season with Brentford. So he has a nice blend of youth and experience.

”He is the type of player we want to be signing.

”He is both athletic and comfortable on the ball – that is what I am looking for with my midfield players.”

Jackett previously tried to sign him at the beginning of last season and thinking he had joined us, Chairman Huw Jenkins spoke to soon and he ended up joining fellow League One side Brentford on a season-long loan.

With Martin Allen leaving the Bees recently, the 21 year-old returned to his current club, leaving the door open for the Swans to make a move for the talented youngster.

An official announcement regarding our move for Darren Pratley should be made sometime this week.
