Nathan Dyer says Portsmouth will be tough opposition this evening as the Swans host Pompey in tonight’s Championship match at the Liberty Stadium.

Tonight’s opponents have struggled since relegation from the Premiership and severe financial problems have been the main cause of their recent downfall.

How times have changed, in January 2009 – Nathan Dyer scores against Portsmouth in the FA Cup which gave the Swans a shock win against the Premiership side. Now we’re favourites to beat them in the League tonight.

‘Everyone expects the teams that come down to bounce straight back up,’

‘That has proved difficult for Portsmouth because of the financial problems, but they will still be a huge threat in this league.

‘I remember when Sunderland were relegated they were at the bottom (of the Championship), but then they won eight in a row and went up.

‘It’s a tough league and you have to keep grinding out results and try to be as consistent as possible.

‘We’ll have to do that tonight because Portsmouth are a dangerous team.’
