Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers says the arrival of Performance Consultant Glen Driscoll is a ‘coup’ for the club.

The 36 year-old recently left Chelsea after ten years at Stamford Bridge, and was there when Brendan Rodgers was Youth Team Manager and Reserve Team Manager.

He will oversee and support the medical and performance departments at the club until further notice.

Rodgers told the Official Site:

‘He’s got a great background and tremendous experience and expertise,”

‘He is unique in the fact that he is a specialist in both medical and physical conditioning.

‘His expertise will help both departments of the club and his arrival is a massive boost for us.”

Driscoll also said:

‘It’s funny how things work out,”

‘I worked with Brendan in the Academy structure at Reading and then found myself reunited with him at Stamford Bridge.”

Driscoll is currently working to eliminate Garry Monk’s back problem as well as looking at the rehab programmes of Alan Tate and Ferrie Bodde.
