Swansea City midfielder Jack Cork is the clear winner of the Vital Swansea Man of the Match poll vs Newcastle United.

Last week, there were 3 or 4 contenders for the man of the match as the Swans beat Chelsea to reach the 40-point mark – a rare occasion where a few players stood out in a performance.

But last Saturday it was back to normal, a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle and a woeful performance saw no one stand out. The likes of Sigurdsson, who is the new MOTM Poll leader with 6, was also poor, while Montero couldn’t produce another excellent performance like the one that helped get the win over Chelsea.

But Jack Cork was the one player at Newcastle who could come out of the game with any credit. He was the best of a bad bunch, gave 100% commitment as he usually does and was the one player putting in the extra work-rate that his team-mates needed to follow.

Man of the Match Leaderboard:

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 6
Ashley Williams – 5
Leon Britton – 5
Jack Cork – 4
Modou Barrow – 3
Andre Ayew – 2
Jonjo Shelvey – 2
Jefferson Montero – 2
Alberto Paloschi – 1
Neil Taylor – 1
Ki Sung Yueng – 1
Lucasz Fabianski – 1

In our new poll, we want to know who you want the club to appoint as next season’s manager. Should Guidolin be offered a new contract? Or should the Swans look elsewhere? Vote now…
