Diminutive midfielder Leon Britton has admitted that he is unmoved by the prospect of facing a QPR side with substantial financial clout.

Bankrolled by the investment of Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, Italian businessman and Renault f1 team principle Flavio Briatore and controversial Indian entrepreneur Lakshmi Mittal have made the Loftus Road club one of the richest clubs despite Mittal’s £16 billion loss in the stock market due to the credit crunch.

Ian Dowie’s side will provide a strong test for Swansea City after getting back to winning ways against struggling Nottingham Forest on the weekend but Britton is under no illusions that if Roberto Martinez’s side can maintain the high standards set out in the early part of the season then Swansea will do well.

Along with the money comes the pressure to perform on the pitch and despite an inconsistent start to the season the ‘R’s’ are just one place off a play off berth, a point Britton was quick to point out.

Britton Told The BBC:

‘They are a club with a lot of money to spend but we go into the game looking to get a result. If we play our game and keep to our high standards, I think we’ll be OK.They are a team that are looking to get promotion or be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.’

‘There are billionaires everywhere and I saw that there was game one that Naomi Campbell went to watch. It’s going to be a tough game. They’ve got a manager in Iain Dowie who knows the division and is doing OK.When you’ve got that kind of money, pressure comes with it.It happens in the Premier League where managers have masses of money to spend and it doesn’t happen straight away they are under pressure.’

‘It’s probably the same at QPR to a certain extent. The money has been pumped in and they are looking to get into the Premier League.I suppose if it doesn’t happen soon, the manager is probably the one who is going to be gone.’ ‘
