Players who aren’t performing to Paulo Sousa’s standards will be ‘out the door’ according to stand-in skipper Alan Tate.

The Swansea City manager is ready to get ruthless with his squad after a disappointing start to the season, with three defeats in the opening 6 games.

Sousa is demanding a big improvement tomorrow night when we host Bristol City at the Liberty Stadium, and Alan Tate told the Evening Post:

‘Paulo said there’s another game Tuesday, but he’s going to have a look at it and if you don’t do what he says then you’re out the door, which is fair enough really,’

‘We all knew it was going to be harder this season because teams realise the way we play.

‘We’ve just got to stick at it, because you can’t throw the towel in if things get a bit tough.

‘Like Paulo said, if you don’t think you’re up to it mentally, you’re out the door.’

‘We’re looking for a win on Tuesday, whether we won our last game doesn’t make a difference, we were always going to look for a win on Tuesday, only it’s perhaps more important that we do now,’

‘The club’s had a big upheaval in the summer. It’s something that takes a lot out of the club and a lot out of people.

‘But it’s something that we’ve got to deal with and sooner rather than later.’
