Ashley Williams has said that Swansea City may finally start to get the credit they deserve after Saturday’s victory at Fratton Park.

The Welsh international has been one of the Swan’s top performers this season, and believes the weekend’s result will make top flight teams sit up and take notice.

Despite the victory, Williams told the Evening Post that it was not City’s best performance of the season.

‘We did ourselves proud as a team and showed the rest of the country what we can do,’ said Williams.

‘We are seen as a little corner of Wales. The gaffer has had some great reviews, which he really deserves.’

‘But he told us in the changing room after the game, we hadn’t put in a 10 out of 10 performance ? we have done a lot better this season.’

‘That’s the pleasing thing, knowing we can go up a few more notches. We showed at Porstmouth that we will be confident.’

‘We know what we can do. It is frustrating when we don’t get the credit we deserve.’

‘But we go about our business as usual and we did that at Portsmouth. We put out the holders and a Premier League team ? now we’ll have the respect from the top teams.’
