Swansea City defender Ashley Williams says the goalless draw at home to Doncaster Rovers summed up our season.

We needed just one goal on Sunday to beat O’Driscoll’s side and to finish in the play-offs, but yet again we struggled in front of goal.

Williams told the Official Site:

‘It just summed up our season in one game – a clean sheet and not scoring at the other end,’

‘We had enough chances to win outright and that’s been our problem all season. It was a disappointing way to end the campaign.

‘At the start of the season we would have taken it, but at the moment it’s a hard thing to say because we had the chance and let it slip.’

‘I’m sure a lot of the lads will look back in a month’s time and say it was one of their best seasons,’

‘It was certainly the favourite season of my career so far. I achieved a lot of things personally and we’ll all be able to look back on it, but it still hurts [missing out on the play-offs] at the moment.’

The Swans could face a battle to keep the Welsh international as a number of clubs are tracking the central defender. Don’t be surprised if we have to listen to a few bids for Ash during the Summer transfer window.
