Sky Sports News is reporting that Wigan Athletic have made an official bid for striker Jason Scotland.
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins said he had received ‘firm interest’ from the Latics for the 30 year-old and he expected the Premiership side to make a bid for our top scorer.

|“Sell sell sell it’s clear he does not want to be with the Swans any more.”|
Yesterday’s reports that Scotland wasn’t joining the squad in the Portugal training camp added more reasons that he was on his way out of the club. However, Jenkins responded saying it was simply a coincidence, he’s not training because he has a groin injury.
Coincidence or not, it is becoming even more likely now that Scotland will get his desired move to the Premiership and to team up again with former boss Roberto Martinez.
Burnley also showed an interest in the Trinidad and Tobago international but their £1m bid with £500,000 extra in add-ons fell short of our valuation.
There’s no reports of how much Wigan have bid, but most of the payment would again depend on Scotland’s appearances and goals scored. Swansea City are looking for around £2.5m for the striker who has scored more than 50 goals in just 2 seasons at the club.
We’ve yet to respond to the bid, and we’ll report updates as soon as we get them.
