Latest speculation suggests that Wigan Athletic have given Swansea City permission to speak to Graeme Jones about the vacant manager’s job.

It appears that chairman Huw Jenkins and the board have the former assistant as they number one choice to replace Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium.

Reports tonight are saying that Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has given the Welsh club permission to speak to the 42 year-old following their official approach.

While Liverpool are set to officially unveil Brendan Rodgers as their new manager on Friday, the Swans could soon follow by unveiling theirs too – possibly Graeme Jones if he decides to take his first ever management role.

More on this shortly…
