New Wales manager Ryan Giggs has now announced his first selection since taking the job on.
The next break of the 2017/18 campaign in March sees Wales face hosts China in Nanning on Thursday March 22, before then facing either Czech Republic or Uruguay in a second scheduled game in the China Cup on Monday March 26.
Everton’s Ashley Williams stays as captain for this break but there are some notable absentees.
Reading’s David Edwards misses out following the announcement of his international retirement, and Giggs has also left Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey out of the squad as he requires a small procedure following the clash against AC Milan later this evening.
Sheffield United starlet David Brooks isn’t risked as he continues to build his fitness after a bout of glandular fever, but he is with the Under 21s and West Bromwich Albion’s Hal Robson-Kanu has also been overlooked.
Liverpool stopper Danny Ward misses out over visa issues, and Newcastle’s Paul Dummett requested he be overlooked as he wanted to focus on relegation worries at his club.
That has left places for Giggs to call on five uncapped players and they take the shape of Billy Bodin, Chris Mepham, Connor Roberts, Michael Crowe and Chris Maxwell.
