The voting has now began on Vital Swansea for your Swansea City Player of the Year.

You can now vote on the right hand side, here are details on the 8 nominees:

Alan Tate: Has adjusted brilliantly to the left back spot and despite playing out of position, he has performed consistently as a replacement for Marcos Painter.

Garry Monk: An excellent professional captain who has led the team from the back this season. Formed a good partnership with Ashley Williams at the start of the season but his absence due to injury seemed to have an effect on our defensive performances – proving to be an important and solid member of the squad.

Jordi Gomez: Was an instant hit here, and had no difficulty adjusting to the English League following his arrival on loan from Espanyol. £200,000 was spent on his season-long loan and you can clearly see why. Scores fantastic goals from varying distances and is also a great set-piece taker. Superb in possession and is willing to get stuck in when required. has played a huge role in our success this year. He was the fans’ hero in the Carling Cup as his 20-yard free-kick gave us a 1-0 win over rivals Cardiff City.

Joe Allen: One of the most improved players I’ve seen at the club in a long time. He struggled early on in the season in a Cup game against Hull but a loan spell at Wrexham did him the world of good. Replaced Ferrie Bodde superbly in the centre of midfield. He quickly got to grips with our passing style of play and is an excellent ball winner despite his small size.

Leon Britton: One of Swansea City’s most consistent players. He’s hardly missed a game and his effort and application has been magnificent ever since he first joined us 6 years ago.

Angel Rangel: The attacking right back has played in 40 of our 45 games this season and his consistent and quality performances have attracted interest from Premiership side Manchester City who are thought to be considering making a bid for the Spaniard in the Summer. He’s solid in defence but gets forward at every possible occasion to link up well with the right midfielder. Also shown glimpses of some clever skill.

Darren Pratley: The 26 year-old missed some of the season because of injury but he still played a vital role this season in midfield. Seems to have unlimited energy, wins possession well and has good passing ability, has improved every year since he joined.

Jason Scotland: Scotland’s goals helped us win the League One title last year and also nearly helped us finish in the play-offs this season. Proved the doubters wrong that he wouldn’t maintain his goalscoring form in the Championship. He’s followed up last year’s tally of 26 with another 24 goals this season.
