Swansea City have been dealt a big injury blow with the news that goalkeeper Michel Vorm will be out for 6-8 weeks with a groin problem.
The Dutch international suffered the injury when trying to keep out Carlos Tevez’s winning strike during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Premier League title holders Manchester City.
Kate Rees, the club’s head physio, said:
“Michel has a partial rupture of his adductor muscle. He are looking at six to eight weeks out.“
Together with Micah Richards’ knee injury, it meant there was 12 minutes of stoppage game making the match the longest in Premier League history.
Vorm’s injury comes at a bad time for the Swans as he could miss big games against the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Gerhard Tremmel will come in as his replacement.
