Roberto Martinez has been successful in his attempts to have Owain Tudur-Jones available for Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Yeovil.

The young midfielder had been called up by John Toshack for the Wales squad, which initially meant he’d miss Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game at home to Yeovil.

Martinez had talks with the FAW to release him from the Wales squad so he could feature in Tuesday’s game.

His call-up seemed a big surprise as he hasn’t played competitive football in a year because of a long-term knee injury problem.

John Toshack sees Tudur-Jones as an important player for Wales in the future and a close source to Toshack said he was called-up simply to get a flavour of life training with the squad and getting to know the players.

He has returned to Swansea and is available on Tuesday night. He will then return to the Wales squad after Tuesday’s game.
