Lee Trundle has spoken about the new series ahead and is looking forward to battling with Jason Scotland for a place in the Swansea starting 11.

Lee Trundle along with Alan Tate and Garry Monk were at the press launch for the new kit Yesterday.

Swansea’s top scorer last term was quick to offer his thoughts about new signing Jason Scotland.

Swansea City Striker Lee Trundle:Told the South Wales Evening Post:

‘I haven’t seen Jason play myself, but I’m told he’s a good player and he’s certainly got a good goalscoring record.

I believe he has good ability and he likes to try a few things on the ball, and any player who likes to express themselves I like because I’m that type too.

I’ve said before that if we can bring in strikers who are going to get you goals it all helps the team, and if it helps the team towards the promotion we want then I’ll certainly welcome it.

‘Hopefully Jason will have a big impact down here and I’ll be able to strike up a good partnership with him.’

With Jason Scotland’s work permit being accepted by the Home Office Yesterday accompanied with Mayol’s signing from Espanyol he will face stiff competition for his place.

That competition for his place will raise his performances and will benefit the team.In recent seasons real competition up front has not been the case. This has led to complacency something that under Roberto Martinez is not an option.

Lets hope something can be sorted with Darryl Duffy or ant other target to add the real depth in that forward position.
