Trialist Ibrahima Thiam is awaiting news on whether he has earned himself a contract with Swansea City.

The Senegal striker arrived on trial last week and featured in the friendlies against Neath and Llanelli.

He scored our 2nd goal in the 3-0 win over Llanelli at Stebonheath Park and he’s hoping he’s done enough to earn a contract.

He told the Evening Post:

‘I think it is a good team. We have very good staff and the players are very open.

‘It is very important with players coming into the team to integrate well and be well received.

‘Sure, there are other possibilities for me but I think why not be at Swansea.’

It looks good for Thiam as Martinez gave him praise:

‘He is a great character,’

‘To be fair, he has been off for three weeks and had some catching up to do.

‘But I think he applied himself very well and he also managed to score a goal as well, so that is pleasing.’

Fans’ Views:

Had lots of endeavour powerful but needs to work on his finishing and heading he was a little weak in those areas but he may just need to settle down.

Missed a couple of close range chances, not the gretest close control, but could be nerves. Needs a few games to assess.
