The transfer rumour season has now started and it begins with Blackpool’s Matt Phillips.

With the football now over and Swansea City achieving an incredible 11th place in the top flight, the rumours and speculation begin to spread – not to mention the 10’s of players we’ll be linked over the next few months – most of which we weren’t even interested in in the first place!

The Evening Post are today reporting that the Swans could join the race to sign £3m rated man Matt Phillips, who lost out the chance to play Premier League football next year following Blackpool’s play off final defeat against West Ham. He may make a move up a division though as there’s likely to be a few top flight clubs interesting in signing him.

Everton, Stoke City and Reading are three clubs along with the Swans linked with the 21 year-old so far.

Phillips was named in the Championship Team of the Year, having scored 18 goals last season. He would certainly provide Brendan Rodgers’ side with more goals, although they’ll also be hoping they’ll still get goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson if they can sign him on a permanent basis.
