Neil Taylor has ‘verbally’ agreed to sign a new 4-year contract at Swansea City, says local football reporter Phil Cadden.

Reporting for the Daily Star, he confirms that the left back, currently out injured for the rest of the season with a broken ankle, looks set to commit his long-term future to the club.

Last week, Taylor said:

‘We’ve been talking about a new contract for a few months now, and we were very close before the injury happened,’

‘But in fairness to the club they have already said they will honour the new deal despite the fact that I won’t play again this season.

‘The way they have handled it speaks volumes about the club and the board.’

The news comes as a big boost to Swansea City as the young Welsh defender has proven to be a superb Premier League full-back.

The Swans are also keen to tie down goalkeeper Michel Vorm and centre back Ashley Williams to long-term deals.
