Left back Neil Taylor signed a new 4-year contract this week and afterwards said that there’s no other place he’d want to be.

There has been speculation over the Welshman’s future at the club recently as a number of Premier League clubs had been reportedly keeping tabs on the left back as they waited to see the outcome on new contract talks in South Wales.

But fortunately for us, they’ll be disappointed to see him sign a new long-term deal at the Liberty Stadium.

He was strongly linked with Fulham last season as he expressed a desire for first team football after losing his place to Ben Davies due to a long-term injury.

But he has enjoyed a new lease of life following Ben Davies’ switch to Spurs. He has gradually improved since the Summer after some criticism early on in the season.

He could now face competition again for his left back place as Franck Tabanou is strongly linked with a move, but Taylor said it was an easy decision to commit his future to Swansea City until 2019.

‘It was an easy decision,’

‘I’m glad we’ve managed to get it done early. Both myself and the club wanted it to happen I’m really happy and focused on Swansea.

‘We’ve been so successful in recent years and the club is really moving forward now. Last season was our best yet.

We have a young, hungry manager and everything is progressing here both on and off the field. I think we’ll strengthen again this summer, so as a player there is no other place you would want to be right now.’
