Wrexham left back looks set to join Swansea City, according to BBC Sport.

The young defender has been linked with the Swans since the beginning of the year after he was recommended to the club by Alan Curtis – former legend and our current coach.

If he was to sign at the Liberty Stadium, which is looking likely, the Swans would have to pay a compensation see to their fellow Welsh club because Taylor is under 24 years of age. £40,000 is the figure being reported in the media.

Taylor’s agent Jeff McLean has said that his client would love to play for Swansea City, Taylor himself has also said this to the press.

‘Neil would love to play for Swansea, it being a Welsh club and the Welsh connection.

‘The fact he has worked with Alan Curtis in the Wales set-up is very important for Neil and his progression.

‘Neil likes the style Swansea play and feels he would fit in to that.’

Manager Paulo Sousa lost two left backs this Summer – Marcos Painter (Brighton & HA) and Fede Bessone (Leeds United). He’ll be looking for replacements in that area and Taylor looks set to fill the gap.

Taylor’s signing would be the second of the Summer, following this week’s arrival of Aldershot Town midfielder Scott Donnelly.
