16th placed Brighton are tomorrow’s visitors to the Liberty Stadium as the Swans take on a side who have lost their last three games.

Martinez’s side are still hoping to clinch a play-off place this season but anything less than 3 points could end our chances of a top 6 position.

Despite their recent poor form lately, Martinez says his side must not under estimate the opposition.

Vital Quotes:

Martinez said: ‘It will be a big mistake to underestimate them.

‘They are a talented young side who I am sure will be up for the game. But the fact that they are fairly safe should make for an open game as I don’t expect them to come here and defend.

‘But for us to earn the right to play Carlisle and Blackpool in what everyone expects to be ‘big game’ scenarios, we’ve got to perform against Brighton on Saturday.

‘There are four teams – Oldham,

eovil, Carlisle and ourselves – battling for two play-off spots. And with nine points to play for, whoever is in form will get into the play-offs.

‘We can’t afford to worry about the other teams; we’ve got to stay focused on our own performance and have enough belief to do it ourselves.

‘We’ve been creating plenty of chances, but we’ve got to make sure we keep putting them away as goal difference could be crucial come the end of the season.”

Brighton boss Dean Wilkins on Trundle: ‘Technically he’s excellent,’

‘We’ve got to make sure we’re very tight in and around the box whenever he receives the ball, because he can do that little bit of magic with the sort of confidence and arrogance, if you like, that we are looking to get amongst our players.

‘We have to be watchful of him, but we also have to be very mindful of what we’re trying to achieve and that we give it our best shot.’

Swansea Team News:

Martinez will be boosted with the return of midfielder Andy Robinson who’s back after a hamstring problem.

Tom Butler also hopes to be passed fit as he’s been struggling with a foot injury lately.

Player to watch: Darryl Duffy

Scored a brace in his last home game and it sounded like he had a few chances at Bournemouth last week.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a goal tomorrow.

Brighton Team News:

Defender Joel Lynch will be missing as he is still suffering from glandular fever but striker Alex Revell should carry on playing though despite having hernia trouble.

Player to watch: Zesh Rehman

Some fans may want to watch Zesh Rehman, a defender that Jackett tried to sign last year.

Midfielder Dean Hammond is the club’s top League scorer with 8 goals plus 3 in other competitions.

Match Facts & Stats

Brighton have lost their last 3 games, winning last at the end of March – a 2-0 away win at Northampton.

Brighton have a better away record than us however, they’ve won 9 drawn 3 and lost 9 on their travels.

Match Prediction:

We outplayed Port Vale at home 2 weeks ago and I’m expecting a similar performance if we want to get in the play-offs. Swans to win 2-0.
