Swansea City reserves battled for a well earned 1-1 draw against Exeter City reserves yesterday evening.

Neither side could create an early opening cancelling each other out. Swansea were handed a boost midway in the first half when Lee Elam was sent off for Exeter City, after receiving two yellow cards for dissent within 10 seconds much to the protestations of the winger.

Buoyed by the dismissal the Grecians surged forward and stunned Swansea to go 1-0 up within 5 minutes of Elam’s dismissal.

Striker Chris Jones was adjudged to have committed a foul just inside the Exeter half. Quick to capitalise Ryan Harley’s lobbed ball found Toby Osman in space to coolly chip David Knight in the Swansea goal.

Swansea surged forward, with a fine cross field ball by Scott Evans to Jones on the flank but the Striker was stopped in his tracks. Numerically advantaged the home side started the second half with a new vigour and purpose.

Colin Pascoe’s side did not have to wait long for the equaliser as Kerry Morgan found space just outside the Exeter penalty area. The former Port Talbot players shot was deflected in past Paul Jones.

Pictures to come..
