Roberto Martinez has ruled out big money buys for Carlisle United striker Danny Graham and MK Dons left back Dean Lewington.
Swansea City have been linked with moves for the two League One players this week but we would have to splash the cash on both, and that was never going to be likely after Martinez admitted we don’t have funds to spend on players.
Huddersfield’s £250,000 bid for Graham was rejected and the Swans would have to equal their record fee of £400,000 for left back Dean Lewington.
Martinez ruled out any possible moves, and told Wales Online:
|‘I don’t see why we have been linked with Danny Graham.’ |
‘I am an admirer of him. He did really well when he played against us last season especially at the Liberty.
‘Obviously he has a good goal scoring record, but apart from that I don’t know why we are being linked with him.
‘We have been linked with Dean Lewington too. I’m happy with my left-back situation here. Dean is a good experienced pro in that position, but not for here. There is nothing behind that link put it that way.’
|‘From today’s news I understand that during Konstantopoulos’ month’s loan the negotations regarding his transfer to us will be ongoing. It would be excellent if we could land him.’|
