Swansea City are hopeful that midfield duo Sigurdsson and Ki will recover from injuries to feature at Everton on Saturday.

Both players were missing from Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup fourth round tie at Liverpool. Sigurdsson was out with a groin strain while Ki was struggling with a shoulder problem.

It’s thought that neither injury is serious, and both are in contention to return at Goodison Park this weekend.

Sigurdsson came off during last Saturday’s home win against Leicester City as a precaution, avoiding the injury getting worse and forcing the Icelandic out of action for longer. His substitution and absence on Tuesday should see him recover to face the Toffees.

Ki should also return to action. The South Korean has arguably been one of the club’s most consistent performers in midfield this season, and is currently leading with the most man of the match poll wins – with 3 in the last 8 games.

Garry Monk gave young midfielder Jay Fulton another chance in the cup on Tuesday night, and he, along with Spurs loanee Tom Carroll, will be on standby if either player fails to recover in time.
