Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett will be offering Sylvain Meslian an extra month on his contract.

The French left back earned himself a one-month deal at the Liberty Stadium after a successful 2-week trial and despite playing just 36 minutes in his debut, Jackett has seen enough to keep him on.

He said: ”I’m going to offer him another month,”

”I feel he’s got something and the longer he is around us, the better he will get.

”He has struggled a little bit with the language, but his communication will improve the longer he is here and that’s obviously a big part of being a back-four player.

”Also, just watching the football, being substitute and playing in the reserves will help him get better.

”Ultimately he will have to prove it in the first team, but I do think he has a lot of attributes he can bring us. It may just take a little bit longer to bed him in.”

Meanwhile, Leon Knight’s loan spell at Barnsley will end on January 2nd. His initial loan stay expires this weekend but it has been extended to last into the transfer window.

This could possibly mean the move is made permanant although having said that Barnsley fans have not been too impressed with as yet!
