Swansea City duo Chad Bond and James Burgin fly out to Sweden this weekend to spend 3 months on loan with Ostersunds.

Boss Roberto Martinez was delighted to see them join the club on loan and said:

‘We are delighted that both Chad and James will be able to progress their development in the competitive environment of the Swedish League,”

‘We know the set up at Ostersunds inside out because we’ve been working closely with them for the last few seasons.

‘They will be going to a safe and well controlled environment to play an important role with the football club and their promotion ambitions.

‘James has progressed massively since finishing his scholarship by playing a lot of competitive football in a number of positions for Port Talbot in the League of Wales.

‘Chad has been working very hard on a daily basis and playing regularly for our reserves. Now he is ready to finish the season off with competitive football on a regular basis.

‘Going abroad to play football is a huge experience and it will be a positive step in their footballing education.”

Martinez also said that they will visit Sweden again in July for more high-altitude training, he added:

‘It is perfect. It is where Sweden’s skiing world champions are based and the facilities are fantastic.

”It is 1,000 metres above sea level, so it will be great for our players to train out there.”
