Connor Roberts and Joe Rodon are set to be named in the Wales squad for September’s fixtures against Azerbaijan and Belarus.

Swansea will have at least two representatives on international duty as the duo join up with Ryan Giggs’ squad in early September for a vital European Championships Qualifier and the following friendly against Belarus.

Connor Roberts will expect to be first choice right-back, while Joe Rodon will hope Giggs uses the friendly to give him a run out.

The news will come as a big positive for Rodon, who was the recipient of abuse on social media following Swansea’s 3-2 win over Preston.

Swans manager Steve Cooper has tipped Rodon to soon be a successful international player for Wales:

“Joe is a big player for us. He’s had a very good start to the season,”

“The exciting thing with Joe is he’ll only get better. He’s taken great responsibility both with and without the ball.

“If he starts doing as well for Wales as he is for us, I would not be surprised.

“If he keeps going the way he is I am sure good things will happen with us and definitely at international level, too.”
