The reward for beating arch rivals Cardiff City in the third round of the Carling cup is a home tie against championship side Watford.

Many Swans fans were hoping to secure a lucrative tie against Premiership opposition but a home tie against Watford offers up a real chance to progress.Roberto Martinez’s side reached the last 16 for the first time in 32 years after comprehensively beating leauge two outfit Brentford in the first round. Drawing premiership side Hull City in the second round could have spelled the end of the leauge cup campaign for Swansea City but in an inspired performance by a second string side the Liberty Stadium outfit won over their top flight opponents 2-1 in extra time.

Skip forward three weeks and in a highly charged encounter in the first South Wales derby in 9 years the Swans secured local bragging rights thanks to Jordi Gomez’s 56th free kick.

Ties will be played in the week commencing the 10th November.
