Martinez is hoping to secure the loan signing of Hull striker Daryl Duffy before tomorrow’s deadline.

Rumours had been spreading in the last 24 hours suggesting that we were looking at the young Scotsman and he is expected to arrive in Swansea today to complete the deal.

The 22 year-old is Hull’s record signing after joining the Championship club in January 2006 for a £250,000 fee.

With our current striker shortage at the club, Duffy will be a welcome addition to the squad if he does join. He is well reknown for his pace – something we currently lack up front.

Jackett also tried to sign him at the end of last year when he realised Hull were interested in selling him.
