Swansea City ended a 8-match winless to jump up to 10th and relieve some of their relegation fears with a win against a poor Fulham side at the Liberty Stadium.

Jonjo Shelvey’s deflected shot opened the scoring on the hour mark before Chico Flores confirmed the three points 15 minutes later as his flicked header went in off Berbatov.

It may have been two deflected goals but it was a deserved win against a Fulham side that look to be serious contenders for the drop based on their performance.

Laudrup’s side were boosted with the returns of de Guzman, Shelvey and Hernandez – allowing the Swans boss to name a stronger bench – which included winger Nathan Dyer who came on in the second half to give us more attacking momentum down the right flank.

Shelvey had been threatening to score during the first half as he was able to direct shots from outside the area via squared passes. The first went way over the bar, the second hit the woodwork and the third hit a Fulham player before hitting the back of the net.

Swansea dominated most of the possession but Fulham were able to counter attack quickly and had their best efforts from crosses and set pieces. Luckily they were poor with headers on goal as Tremmel was fortunate to see most of their attempts fly over his crossbar.
