Swansea City are set to hand a trial to Swedish under-21 international Mario Simunovic.

The 20 year-old, who currently plays with Degerfors IF, in the Swedish Second Division, played in a friendly last season for Doncaster Rovers and was involved in all four goals in their win against Mansfield Town.

His agent also claims that Birmingham City and Sheffield United have also shown an interest in the younsgster.

The management team could see him in Reserves action on Tuesday night with Colin Pascoe’s second teamers face Llanelli at Stebonheath Park (7:30pm kick off).

Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa is keen to boost his attacking options in this month’s transfer window and a recent move for 33 year-old Shefki Kuqi was unsuccessful due to his agent’s payment demands.

Shaun MacDonald and Marcos Painter have gone out on loan to Yeovil and Brighton respectively, while Matty Collins is also thought to be moving out on loan at some point.
