It looks now as if Swansea City FC will miss out on the Spanish midfielder’s services this season at the Liberty Stadium as Senna has revealed, that after talks with the Villareal chairman at the European Grand Prix gala dinner in Spain that the two parties are ‘very close’ to agreeing terms on extending his stay past his current 10 years service.

Marcos Senna said:

‘Following the informal meeting, the president’s son told me he would contact my agent on Monday,’

‘I am optimistic that we will soon reach an agreement.

‘I have been here a long time. I want to stay at Villarreal for many years. Well, at least for one year.’

Brendan Rodgers may well have to look elsewhere for strength in the midfield area for Swansea City’s maiden Premier League campaign, which kick’s-off away against Manchester City on August the 13th.
