Swansea City have confirmed the signing of Liverpool’s young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
The 21 year-old has passed a medical and signed a 4-year contract at the Liberty Stadium after a £5m fee was agreed with the Reds.
The England international helps to balance the squad in terms of British and foreign numbers, as Swansea City have so far signed four non-British players this Summer – Spaniards – Canas, Amat and Pozuelo, plus Dutchman de Guzman returns on loan.
There are mixed opinions regarding Shelvey and his move to the Swans. Some say he’s not worth the price tag and that we don’t need another midfielder, while others are more positive and say that it’s a good investment for the future – plus the fact that he’s British helps us meet Premier League rules.
