Swansea City have completed the signing of Austrian trialist Besian Idrizajon a two-year deal.

The 21 year-old, a former Liverpool player arrived at the club on trial this week and he has impressed enough to earn himself a contract at the club.

All of the paperwork has been completed but Swansea City are still waiting for international clearance from the German FA. The move should be finalised by Monday.

He is a tall, 6ft 2′ player who won Austria’s Player of the Year award in 2005 when he was playing for Linzer Stadion. His impressive performances caught the attention of Premiership side Liverpool who signed up in the same year.

He was never able to break into the first team at Anfield as an injury hindered his first season with the Reds. In 2007 though, he netted a hatrick in just 27 minutes in a friendly match at Wrexham.

He’s played in the Championship before when he was loaned out to Luton Town in 2006/07 and Crystal Palace the following season.

The 21 year-old has also represented his county at under-21 level, scoring 3 goals in 12 games.

Sousa told the Official site:

‘He’s not quite a striker but he is an attacking player,’ confirmed the Swans boss.

‘I know a lot about him and he is the sort of player that could fit into our squad.’
