Jefferson Montero is expected to fly in this week to undergo a medical before completing his move to Swansea City.

The Ecuadorian international served his country in the recent 2014 World Cup in Brazil, playing in all three group stage matches.

A fee of around £4m is expected to be paid by the Swans to his Mexican club Monarcas Morelia.

The 24 year-old winger has previously played for Spanish clubs Villareal, and also had loan spells at Levante and Real Betis.

He has already got 43 caps for Ecuador, scoring 8 international goals. In a 2-year spell at Morelia, he scored 10 goals in 63 appearances.

Following the news that Pablo Hernandez is set to complete a 3-year move to Al Arabi, Garry Monk has moved quickly to replace the winger.
