Swansea City have today released Spaniard Guillem Bauza.

The striker, who can also play in midfield joined the club at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season but he has struggled to earn himself a regular a place in the starting line-up.

Despite starting just 19 League games in 3 seasons at the Liberty Stadium, the 25 year-old scored 9 goals, plus another 7 cup goals in 14 games.

I’m sure Bauza will be remembered amongst the fans and club stuff for being a dedicated young player who hard-working, but you felt he never had that extra quality and consistency to be a regular performer for us.

Bauza becomes the second player to leave the club, following Marcos Painter’s permanent move to Brighton & Hove Albion. Sousa said it was a tough decision to release him:

‘As a manager you always have tough decisions to make,”

‘Bussy has played an important part in the club’s recent rise and I’m sure everyone would like to thank him for his efforts.

‘He has a new challenge ahead of him now and we all wish him every success for the future.”

Vital Swansea would like to wish Bauza the very best of luck in the future.

What are your opinions on releasing Bauza? Was it the right decision?
