News sources in Italy are linking Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur with a possible move for young Italian striker Riccardo Saponara.

Serie B News suggests that the two Premier League clubs have shown an interest in the 20 year-old, who has score 1 goal in 16 appearances this season.

The frontman has also played for his country at under-21 level and has been mentioned as a possible target.

Swansea City saw the benefit of having a young Italian striker on their books for the final few months of last season as Fabio Borini helped us win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs. While there is no chance of return for Borini any time soon, the Swans have been linked with another Italian footballer who has been tipped to go on to big things.

Jimmy Kebe has also been mentioned as a possible long-shot target for the Swans, although only Championship clubs have yet to be linked with the winger, whilst one has had a bid rejected.

With Rory Donnelly and Gylfi Sigurdsson confirmed as new signings this month, the Swans should also add a third with the arrival of young French defender Darnel Situ. Rodgers says only 1 or 2 other players could arrive in January.
