Swansea City are again being linked with Barcelona B striker Jonathan Soriano.

BBC Sport reported back in July that the Swans went abroad to meet up with representatives of a particular player – believed to be Soriano, but nothing came of the move.

It appears that manager Brendan Rodgers has renewed his interest in the 26 year-old, if the latest reports are true.

Soriano is looking to depart the Nou Camp having realised that he needs to go elsewhere to get regular first team games.

The Swans also face competition from Marseille, as they are also one of the teams interested according to his agent, Jose Maria Orobitg who said:

‘Marseille is indeed among the teams interested, but of course there is nothing concrete as the player is still under contract with Barcelona. But Jonathan has not extended his contract and if he leaves, it will be for a foreign club.’

Soriano has proved to be an excellent goalscorer for Barcelona B in Spain’s second tier, last season he scored 32 goals in 37 games.
