Swansea City are in transfer talks with trialist Michael van der Heijden.

The Dutchman arrived at the club last month for a trial following his release from Dutch Third Division side FC Lisse.

BBC are reporting he is close to signing but is likely to go straight out on loan to Hereford United if he does.

Roberto Martinez seemed pleased with his attitude while he was here and he told BBC Wales:

“Michael has come in, he’s shown a great attitude and he needs to keep working hard.”

“I’m not sure about this Soutar. It doesn’t seem like much thought has gone into finding a new GK. Maybe we should look at Michael Danek. Then again, it is going to be hard to find a quality goalkeeper as we already have Dorus and I doubt many keepers will want to come here to warm the bench.”
