Swansea City have completed the free transfer of Queen of the South striker Stephen Dobbie.

The 26 year-old completed a medical and signed 3 year deal today to complete his switch to the Liberty Stadium.
Swans boss Roberto Martinez told the official site afterwards that they’ve been following the player for some time:
‘We were tracking him since his first season at Queen of the South,”
‘When you finish as the club’s top scorer you’ve got to take an interest. Our Scottish scout monitored his progress closely throughout last season.
‘He has been through many different moments in his career since his Rangers days, but I firmly believe he is now ready for a new challenge.
‘He has reinvented himself in the last two seasons at Queen of the South and is at the best age of his career.
‘He is a typical Swansea City player – very gifted and strong technically. He’s also a natural goalscorer; has high standards and is hungry to show off his talents in the Championship by helping Swansea City win football games.
‘He’s our first new signing of the new campaign and will add extra competition to a forward line that is already looking exciting for next season.
‘But we won’t stop here; we will continue to strengthen the squad in different areas ready for the new season,”
Dobbie will be re-united with former team-mate Jason Scotland, the pair played together for a brief spell at St Johnstone.
The frontman netted 54 goals in 87 appearances for Queen of the South and has been a consistent goalscorer during his 2-and-a-half year stay with the Scottish Division 1 side.
