Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup wants more signings after making two so far this Summer.
Although the 48 year-old is looking to reduce the squad down to 22 or 23 players, Laudrup is keen to strengthen it further despite having more than 30 individuals to work with at present.
Thankfully, Laudrup is remaining quiet on which players he’s looking to bring in as he doesn’t want to give other clubs ideas, which could harm their chances of capturing their targets.
‘There’s more work to do,’
‘I don’t want to say so much about the names, because we have to realise there are a lot of clubs in the same position as we are right now.
‘We have to spend our money well. We have to do things quietly because if we talk too much, other clubs will say ‘Oh, we would like that as well’.
‘The only thing we do by mentioning names is put the prices up, and the only people who will be satisfied with that are the clubs who own the players.
‘We cannot say so much, but we are working on things.’,/i>
Laudrup would also ‘ideally’ like to make further signings before their USA Pre-Season Tour this weekend but realises that is unlikely.
His signings so far are defender Chico Flores and season-long loanee Jonathan de Guzman.
‘An ideal world in football doesn’t exist. It would be best for us if we could get the new players in before we go,’
‘I’m happy with the two signings we have and we are working on others as well, but there are a lot of things to consider because you have the player, the club, the other club.
‘A lot of things have to come together before we can make the signings, but hopefully before US would be great. Let’s see – it’s possible.’
